My type design brief was to create a funky typeface inspired by Latin American rock album covers from the 1970’s. The inspiration came from digging through my grandparents treasured record collection in their basement.

This original typeface design is inspired by funky Latin American rock album covers from the 1970’s. Inspiration and references came from digging through my grandparents treasured record collection in their basement. This project was initiated in my Type Electives Class during college, and further refined in months after. I feel this alphabet would be best utilized in the music posters, merch, social media posts, and of course —album covers! Creating this letterform style was invigorating, and taught me how to enjoy the process of letter making.
